Ok, so I'm a new blogger. I expect I'm sitting here asking the same questions most new bloggers might ask.
- What do I want to talk about?
- Why does what I say matter or how can I give value to anyone else with what I have to say?
- How do I begin?
So that leaves where to begin.
Let's start with the name. I picked riskjuggler as an internet handle because it is what I do.
Most people seem to take risks without thinking about how they may effect their present, let alone 10 minutes into the future. Sometimes I envy those people. However, more people than not seem to find themselves stuck in blind alleys because they didn't spend enough time considering the risks and possibilities.
Watching risks (or balls, sticks or chainsaws) move around each other and applying the right pressure at the right time to help them and myself move toward a greater goal may seem boring to some and more work than necessary to most. It is what I call fun.
Lately, the risks I seem best at juggling are business and security risks. Throughout my professional history, the most fun I've had is helping small to medium size businesses. Those with the least operating budget and the toughest risk decisions have to get through their day without spending too much more than is absolutely necessary to keep moving towards their particular brass ring. This is a particularly interesting challenge for a risk juggler.
So I'm going to start with that and share what I can. Welcome to my carnival ride...and hang on tight cause the ride will get bumpy. Hopefully, as we work through the thought process, I'll get a cathartic release, discovery of new ideas for me and you'll learn something that will help you sleep better at night and have more energy to keep fighting the good fight.
